Descriptions

Katyayani Trichoderma harzianum is a Bio fungicide. It is a Liquid Formulation containing high concentrations of natural live Trichoderma harzianum fungus. When applied to the soil or seeds, the bacteria colonize the plant root zone and help to protect plants from a variety of fungal diseases. It is considered an eco-friendly alternative to chemical fungicides because it is safe for humans, animals, and the environment.

Mode of action:

  • Competition: Trichoderma harzianum colonizes the root zone of plants, competing with harmful fungi for space and nutrients.
  • Mycoparasitism: Trichoderma directly attacking and parasitizing the fungal pathogens. Trichoderma hyphae (filaments) can grow around and coil on the pathogen's hyphae, restricting its growth. Additionally, Trichoderma secretes enzymes that can dissolve the cell walls of the pathogen, allowing it to invade and consume the fungal cells.
  • Antibiosis: Trichoderma harzianum produces a variety of antibiotic compounds that can inhibit the growth and development of pathogenic fungi.b
  • Induced Systemic Resistance (ISR): Trichoderma interacts with plant roots, it can trigger the plant's defense mechanisms, making it more resistant to fungal infections.
